What you will be doing
We are thrilled to announce that we have secured access to the airfield from the evening of July 30th until the morning of August 1st for an incredible event!
We will feature pilots arriving in their own aircrafts, stunning classic cars, alongside a wide array of activities, including stalls, face painting, inflatables, live music, and a fully stocked bar. We're looking for volunteers to support by representing Emerging Talent and engaging with guests attending for fun!
Manning a stall involves representing British Airways and engaging with students who are exploring potential career paths. Key tasks include:
- Setting Up the Stall: Ensure the booth is visually appealing, with promotional materials (brochures, flyers, or banners) and any technology or displays that highlight our opportunities.
- Engaging with Students: Answer questions, provide information about British Airways, and explain available opportunities like work experience, apprenticeships, graduate schemes, Pilot and Cabin Crew.
- Networking: Build connections with students, teachers, and other professionals attending the fair, signposting students to Speedbird Z, and teachers to [email protected]
- Answering Questions: Be prepared to discuss the work environment, company culture, job opportunities, and any application processes.
- Representing the Brand: Be professional, approachable, and enthusiastic, as you are showcasing British Airways to the next generation of potential employees.
The goal is to attract and inform students, helping them make informed decisions about their future career paths.
What we are looking for
- Positivity – As you will be representing us externally, we want positive, professional ambassadors who are proud of our company and brand.
- Passionate – A little bit of enthusiasm goes a long way with our students, and to be an Inspire volunteer you definitely have to be passionate about inspiring young people and encouraging them to pursue the career of their dreams.
- Self-management – As a team we will support you as much as you need up to the day of your event. It’s your responsibility to communicate with us when picking up and dropping off any resources, arrive punctually at the event location and be prepared and up to date with your careers knowledge.
- Responsibility - If you sign up to attend one of the events, then nearer the time you are unable to attend, we do kindly ask you find a suitable replacement as once we have made a commitment it’s not fair on the students or schools to let them down at short notice.
