British Airways colleagues based in Newcastle are taking part in this year’s Memory walk, as part of our three-year partnership with Alzheimer’s Society.
Dementia is the biggest health and social challenge of our time
Alzheimer’s Society are committed to ending the devastation caused by dementia, giving help to those living with dementia today and providing hope for the future. There are currently estimated to be 900,000 people in the UK with dementia. Many are undiagnosed and facing the realities of their condition alone. With the help of their amazing supporters like British Airways, Alzheimer’s Society are changing that.
What is Memory Walk?
Memory Walk is so much more than a sponsored walk. Every year thousands of amazing people like the Newcastle offices come together to remember, share and bring hope for a brighter future. Walking for those you love, for those you’ve lost and for those whose future you care about.
When is it taking place?
The Newcastle team will be taking on their Memory walk 10am, 5 October 2024. You can join in and support them from the volunteering and cheering areas at Bents Exhibition Park, South Shields and along the South Shields coast.
The impact your donations make
With your help, British Airways will raise vital funds to support to those who need it most, hold decision-makers to account, and fund ground-breaking research to transform the future for everyone living with dementia.
In 2023 colleagues from the Newcastle office raised over £1,200, this could fund over 200 calls to Alzheimer's Society's Dementia Support Line providing families affected by dementia vital support from one of their expert Dementia Advisers.
Together we are help and hope for everyone living with dementia.
Thank you!
