British Airways colleagues based in Manchester are taking part in this year’s Memory walk, as part of our new three-year partnership with Alzheimer’s Society.
Dementia is the biggest health and social challenge of our time
Alzheimer’s Society are committed to ending the devastation caused by dementia, giving help to those living with dementia today and providing hope for the future. There are currently estimated to be 900,000 people in the UK with dementia. Many are undiagnosed and facing the realities of their condition alone. With the help of their amazing supporters like British Airways, Alzheimer’s Society are changing that.
What is Memory Walk?
Memory Walk is so much more than a sponsored walk. Every year thousands of amazing people like the Manchester offices come together to remember, share and bring hope for a brighter future. Walking for those you love, for those you’ve lost and for those whose future you care about.
When is it taking place?
The Manchester team will be taking their Memory walk 10am, 8 October 2023. You can join in and support them from the volunteering and cheering areas at Heaton Park, Manchester.
Which office will reach their target first?
As well as the Manchester team, we also have British Airways colleagues taking part in London, Newcastle and Cardiff. Who will reach their target first? May the best team win!
The impact your donations make
With your help, British Airways will raise vital funds to support to those who need it most, hold decision-makers to account, and fund ground-breaking research to transform the future for everyone living with dementia.
Each colleague is aiming to raise £160 in sponsorship for their walk, and that's a total of £4,000 for the 25 colleagues taking part in the Manchester office. Can you help them reach their goal and help raise vital funds to support people affected by dementia? All donations are welcome, big or small, they all make a huge difference!
Together we are help and hope for everyone living with dementia.
