Cycling the length of Britain to raise money for Flying Start.

During the first half of September, I will be cycling the legendary Lands End to John O'Groats route, covering approximately 900 miles and 13,500 metres of ascent from one end of Great Britain to the other.

I have chosen to raise money for Flying Start, BA's partnership with Comic Relief, which supports vulnerable and disadvantaged people both in the UK and around the world. The charity helps fund projects that provide safe homes, food, healthcare, mental health support, and opportunities for children and young people to build brighter futures.

When I joined BA 35 years ago, I was inspired by the company's commitment to helping people in need. On my first staff travel trip to Disney World, Florida, I saw the incredible impact that BA colleagues and the airline had in creating special experiences for children who otherwise may never have had that opportunity.

Now it's my turn, mile by mile, to support people facing hardship around the world and to make a positive difference through a physical challenge.

Since 2010, British Airways customers and colleagues have raised over £25 million for Comic Relief, helping to support more than 824,000 people across the UK and some of the world's poorest communities. Your contribution will help continue this incredible legacy and support the hundreds of organisations working on the ground to change lives every day.
