I'm raising £10,000 for Comic Relief to help support people facing challenges far greater than the one I've chosen to take on.
On 18 October, I'll be taking on the Malaga Half Ironman, one of the biggest challenges I've ever set myself.
I've always loved sport. I'm a Sports Science graduate, an ultra-distance runner, and I work for British Airways as Customer Service Duty Manager for Southern Spain and Gibraltar. But despite my background in endurance sport, I've never completed a triathlon of any distance before.
The idea of combining a 1.9km swim, 90km bike ride and 21.1km run in a single event is both exciting and daunting. It pushes me well outside my comfort zone and demands a completely new set of skills, training and commitment.
I'm doing this because I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to overcome life's challenges. While my challenge is something I've chosen, many people supported by Comic Relief face difficulties they never asked for. Through the incredible projects and organisations Comic Relief supports, vulnerable people can access help, hope and opportunities to build a better future.
My goal is to raise £10,000, and every donation, no matter how small, will help make a real difference. Knowing that each training session and every mile on race day will contribute to something bigger than myself will keep me going when things get tough.
Thank you for supporting me, sharing this fundraiser and helping Comic Relief continue its vital work. Together, we can turn this challenge into something truly meaningful.
