Would like to engage a wider programme of activities for a longer period of time this would include additional training for the volunteers also.
My name is Erma Lewis I was a Carer for my Mother and Father for a number of years, my team of 3 Trustees and 7 volunteers were Carers, but we set up a Carers Support group in 2010 supporting 12 Carers at that time. At present we have 43 Carers but we are unable to provide the support.
Our vision is that we will be able to develop and increase the scope this project and at the same time working with members of the community of Birmingham .
These support group will be a lifeline to many carers who are suffering loneliness and mental issues in silence not knowing who to reach out to.
Funds will be used provide Capital cost to hire Venues to run projects, Seasonal workers to facilitate the Training session for Carers, Safeguarding Training, flier distribution and to help facilitate the logistics of adapting mobility items such as wheelchairs.
The outcome will be that we want to ensure all our Carers feel Empowered and have the training needed, and with the present cost of living crises they do not have the income they need.
Lonliness can be an illness in itself so this will be an outlet such as Respite for many of the Carers, share their experience from each other and most importantly be a good Listener.
