About Us

Artistry Youth Dance is a London based youth dance company that supports young people of African and Caribbean heritage. Through a world class training programme, we are leading the way in creating opportunities for young black dancers. We’re passionate about empowering young people through creative dance development, and along with high-quality training, offer unforgettable dance opportunities with industry leaders and professionals.

We’re proud to nurture a richer and more culturally diverse dance community in the UK. As a Company, we’re committed to developing the next generation of black dance artists.

Last year we supported 407 young people. This year we want our work to reach even more young people.

Why are we doing this?

Since Artistry Youth Dance was founded in 2013, we've showcased and celebrated young dancers of African and Caribbean heritage and have provided opportunities for young people to train with leading dance artists and choreographers across the wide spectrum of the dance industry. We know from our own experiences and testimonials from our young dancers the importance of exposing them to successful role models, who take up space in venues and dance organisations that they once thought were not for people that looked like them.

We want more young dancers of African and Caribbean heritage to be uplifted, inspired, and encouraged to pursue their dreams in dance, the Arts, or whatever career path they choose. Can you help us make this a reality?

Here's a video of our successful AYD100 Dance Workshop and scholarship programme.

Here are some of the things that our young people say about how they benefit from being in AYD:

"Get to dance with other people of colour".

"Safe space to explore your artistry".

"Making new friends that go through similar experiences to you".

"Exposure to a range of choreographers/teachers".

"Range of performance opportunities".

"Being able to rehearse in a professional space".

"Get to learn and train in multiple different styles".

"Connections to colleges".

"The diversity".
