The Earthshot Prize and British Airways are working together to discover groundbreaking eco-innovations, scale impactful environmental solutions, and amplify these efforts through inspiring storytelling to motivate global audiences with hope and optimism.

The Earthshot Prize

The Earthshot Prize searches the globe for game-changing innovations that will help us repair our planet. We are on a mission to be the world’s leading search engine for discovering and scaling solutions, and to drive action through our storytelling.

We are led by our Earthshots – simple but ambitious goals for 2030, developed in collaboration with leading environmental experts. They are; Protect and Restore Nature, Clean our Air, Revive our Oceans, Build a Waste-Free World, and Fix our Climate. Every year over the course of this critical decade, five Winners with the best chance of helping to achieve our Earthshots will receive investment to scale their solutions. In our first four years, we have received 4,000 nominations (225 of which have come from the UK), introduced 60 Finalists to the world and supported to scale their solutions.

Supporting eco-innovators on their journey to scale

Taking a solution from concept to scale takes leadership, experience and operational prowess. Many innovators, especially from the Global South, lack access to privileged networks of power, advice, talent, contracts, or the capital needed to bring their innovations to market. Each year, through The Earthshot Prize Fellowship Programme, we aim to supercharge the 15 Finalists’ growth by providing tools, masterclasses, peer networks and media training to scale quickly. We also build a community of experts and peers who can collaborate to uncover new opportunities to scale. In doing so, we aim to dismantle structural barriers and equip Finalists with tools and training to scale quickly.

Supporting Youth Climate Leaders

The Earthshot Prize recognises the transformative power of emerging climate leaders and invites the changemakers of tomorrow to fall in love with climate creativity. At Earthshot Week 2024, 120 young climate leaders from Africa and Asia joined the Climate Youth Leadership Programme. Throughout the week, the young innovators, designers and thinkers participated in a series of immersive masterclasses, workshops, and experiences, to inspire and support them as they take bold and decisive action on climate.
