The families we support often live with neurodivergent conditions that often leave children with complex additional challenges including inability to consume food orally. Some have visual impairments and are immobile.
Christmas can be a very magical time of year for neurotypical children but too often children who have limiting sensory abilities get left out.
One example is when vising Santa - we are creating a Santa Grotto at our Hoylake building. Here we will create a sensory rich experience that is safe for children hooked up to oxygen in a wheelchair for example.
We will offer gifts from Santa that are safe and meaningful for the child's needs - example we cant offer a chocolate advent calendar to a child who cannot eat foods or drink orally. Instead we offer gifts that are enjoyable on another sensory level.
We will ensure Santa comes to visit the children who are too sick to reach us by visiting them at home!
We are raising funds to turn our room into a magical wonderland Santa visit, provide a child a sensory rich gift from Santa & ensure every child feels included this Christmas thanks to your donation!
