The cafe will open for longer if more money is raised! This means more families and individuals will benefit from a warm, welcoming environment and nutritious meal.
Zink is a dynamic local charity that makes big ideas happen! As the country faces a cost of living crisis, we all know the poorest families will be hit hardest. Zink already provides a foodbank, help into jobs, advice and a range of exciting wellbeing activities from board game meet ups to a School of Rock.
Zink's community eco-cafe is open to all for a two course meal on Fridays. Foodbank users get to eat for free and on Tuesdays we provide a warm place for families with activities and food. Your donation will help to expand the community cafe opening hours so that good nourishing food and a warm, welcoming place to eat it is available at least three days a week.
Food is cooked using supermarket surplus ingredients so it prevents waste too! (Note: food is all in date and cooked in our five star food hygiene rated kitchen.)
Of course, everyone is welcome but not everyone can afford to eat out, so the cafe will always be low cost with huge discounts for those on benefits and free for foodbank users. There is an option to 'Pay it Forward' to cover the cost of a meal for a vulnerable person in our community.
We hope you can donate to create this new community resource; a warm place to be in the coming cold weather, and we hope you will call in for dinner sometime!
